Our Physician
As a nephrologist, Dr. Nguyen possesses specialized knowledge and skill in the diagnosis and treatment of nephrolic (kidney) conditions and diseases. Nephrology is classified as an internal medicine subspecialty. Dr. Nguyen received his training in nephrology at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a Diplomate of the American Board of Nephrology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and one of the first Fellows of the American Society of Nephrology. He is also a member of the International Society of Nephrology and a member of Renal Physicians Association. He is currently Medical Co-Director of Chinatown Dialysis Center, the only and first dialysis center at Chinatown, New York City. He is the attending physician at New York Downtown Hospital (formerly NYU Downtown Hospital), Lower Manhattan Dialysis Center, and Manhattan St. Vincent Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Nguyen specializes in all aspects of nephrology: hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, glomerular diseases, acid-base and electrolyte disturbances, and hypertension. Dr. Nguyen is also trained in ICU nephrology, including CRRT (continuous renal replacement therapy). Dr. Nguyen has had a high percentage of his end stage renal disease patients referred and received kidney transplants at NYU Medical Center, Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York Hospital- Cornell Medical Center, Montefiore Medical Center in New York, and Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.
